The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Michigan Medical School is recruiting for a surgical faculty physician to join the Orthopaedic Hand Surgery team. We are excited to have you join our 3 other Orthopaedic Hand Surgeons who along with 4 Plastics Hand Surgeons take care of patients at The University of Michigan. Clinically and academically, this team works closely with Plastics Hand Surgeons in a combined fellowship and in collaborative clinics.  Besides patient care, specific duties also include teaching medical students, house officers and fellows and conducting/participating in research.  The ideal candidate will be Fellowship trained with an interest in resident and fellow education, as well as clinical research, scholarly activity and collaborative care with our Plastic Surgery colleagues. Additionally, with 2 of our senior surgeons taking care of the majority of our congenital hand patients, there will be an upcoming opportunity to follow these patients and develop a pediatric hand practice. This position includes clinical work at both the Ann Arbor VA Hospital and Michigan Medicine. This is an excellent opportunity in a unique clinical practice with teaching and research at this major medical center while living in one of the best small cities in the country.

Required Qualifications*

Candidates should possess an M.D./D.O. and be board certified or eligible for certification; completed specialty fellowship training in hand surgery; hold or have the ability to obtain the appropriate medical licenses in the State of Michigan; demonstrate outstanding teaching and clinical care abilities; and have associated research interests.
