Job Summary:

The Physical Therapy Program in the Department of Rehabilitative Sciences at East Tennessee State University seeks applicants for a full-time core faculty position. This position is a 12-month tenure-track appointment.

The required qualifications include a physical therapy degree with a terminal academic degree (PhD, DSc, EdD, etc.). Candidates who are ABD will also be considered. Candidates must also have current physical therapy licensure in Tennessee or be eligible for licensure.

Preferred qualifications include board-certified clinical specialist certification or other demonstration of content expertise. Preference will be given to candidates with previous teaching experience, evidence of scholarly productivity (e.g., peer-reviewed publications and/or presentations), and a history of professional involvement.

The Physical Therapy program also offers a residency program in orthopaedic physical therapy that is co-sponsored by the James H. Quillen Veterans Hospital along with a fellowship program in orthopaedic manual physical therapy in conjunction with local clinical partners. The Department of Rehabilitative Sciences is housed within the College of Clinical and Rehabilitative Health Sciences which includes graduate programs in audiology, nutrition, speech-language pathology, social work, as well as developing occupational therapy and orthotics & prosthetics programs. The college is part of the Academic Health Sciences Center which includes the James H. Quillen College of Medicine, the Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy, the College of Public Health and the College of Nursing. There is a strong emphasis on interprofessional education and research.
