Musculoskeletal Section Chief Position
The Department of Radiology at Montefiore Medical Center, the primary teaching hospital of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, seeks an accomplished academic radiologist to serve as Section Chief of Musculoskeletal (MSK) Imaging at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. This leadership opportunity offers the chance to guide and expand a well-established musculoskeletal imaging program within one of the nation’s largest academic health systems serving a diverse patient population across the Bronx, Westchester, and the Hudson Valley.
The Section Chief will provide strategic and operational leadership for the MSK division and work closely with departmental leadership to advance the clinical, educational, and research missions of the Department of Radiology. The Chief will oversee clinical operations and workflow across multiple Montefiore sites, support faculty recruitment and mentorship, and strengthen multidisciplinary collaborations with multiple departments including Orthopedic Surgery, Sports Medicine, Rheumatology, and Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation. The position offers an opportunity to shape the future of musculoskeletal imaging across Montefiore’s expanding clinical enterprise while fostering innovation, faculty development, and academic productivity.
Clinical responsibilities include interpretation of the full spectrum of musculoskeletal imaging studies, including radiography, CT, MRI, and ultrasound. The position also includes performance of MSK image-guided procedures including arthrography, pain injections, and biopsies. Experience or interest in MSK ultrasound is desirable. The MSK division works closely with orthopedic and sports medicine specialists in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment supported by state-of-the-art imaging technology.
As a faculty member at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, the Section Chief will participate in teaching radiology residents, fellows, and medical students, mentoring junior faculty, and contributing to clinical and translational research initiatives within the department.
Qualified candidates must hold an MD, DO, or equivalent degree, be ABR-certified or ABR-eligible, have completed fellowship training in Musculoskeletal Radiology, and be eligible for medical licensure in the State of New York. Candidates with demonstrated leadership experience and a strong commitment to academic radiology are particularly encouraged to apply.
In addition to a competitive base salary of $450,000-$525,000, we offer the opportunity to supplement income through productivity incentives. LTD, STD, paid malpractice, health, dental, vision and a 403(b) are also offered.
Interested candidates should submit a CV and letter of interest to Chair of Radiology, Dr. Judy Yee jyee@monefiore.org and Senior Recruiter, John Pinto jpinto@montefiore.org.
