The Orthopedic And Spine Inpatient Surgical (O.A.S.I.S) Hospital is a specialty inpatient hospital which was established to set a new standard for excellence and patient satisfaction in the delivery of orthopedic and spinal surgery. Job Summary: Under the direction/supervision of the Director of Inpatient Services, the charge nurse is responsible for making daily assignments, directing the work flow of the PSU/ICU units, and providing direct care for critical need patients. This position is also responsible for monitoring and mentoring of all staff, staff scheduling, staff evaluations, reviewing narcotic reports and researching discrepancies. The Charge Nurse also works with the PSU Director on Performance Improvement audits and activities. In addition to the responsibilities listed for the Charge Nurse, this position is also responsible for performing duties of the PSU registered Nurse to include some critical care.
Required Skills:
Graduate of an accredited RN school of nursing.
Minimum 2 years clinical experience as an RN in hospital ICU/Telemetry.
Current Arizona RN License.
Current BLS and ACLS.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Good organization habits.
Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet needs of patients and unit.
