The Department of Radiology is recruiting fellowship-trained pediatric radiologists with high integrity and a strong commitment to professionalism to join our team of 11 Faculty in the Section of Pediatric Radiology at the C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, and the Department of Radiology of the University of Michigan Medical School (“Michigan Medicine”). We encourage application at any level of faculty experience - Instructor, Assistant or Associate Professor or Professor. We encourage applications from both Pediatric Radiology fellows completing their training in 2022 and from practicing pediatric radiologists.
Our growing and diverse practice has the breadth, depth and scale for faculty at any career stage, and with general or specialized interests anywhere along the spectrum from clinician-educator to clinician-scientist. We emphasize mentorship, career and leadership development in a culture that embraces diversity. We are seeking candidates who are excellent clinical pediatric radiologists and enthusiastic educators. An aptitude for research and innovation is encouraged.
The Section of Pediatric Radiology is responsible for all body and musculoskeletal imaging of pediatric patients, totaling approximately 95,000 pediatric imaging exams annually. State of the art imaging equipment at the C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital includes 3 MRIs, an intraoperative MRI, 2 CTs (with new cardiac CT scanner coming soon), 7 ultrasound units, 6 radiography rooms and 4 fluoroscopy/radiography rooms. The hospital has 277 pediatric beds, diverse subspecialty outpatient clinics and a busy 31-bay pediatric emergency department.
Pediatric Radiology is one of 9 clinical specialty units, which together with our robust basic science division, form the Department of Radiology faculty. With approximately 150 Faculty, we consistently rank near the top nationally in NIH funding, and rank within the top 10 post graduate radiology education programs. The Section provides training for two Pediatric Radiology fellows each year.
C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital is located on the Ann Arbor Medical Campus of the University of Michigan. Connectivity to the Medical School and greater university campus provides opportunity for collaboration with a diverse faculty. Required Qualifications: M.D. or equivalent, ABR-certified or has passed the core examination and on track to take the certifying examination within 15 months of completing residency. Must have completed an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Pediatric Radiology, completed or be eligible to complete ABR-certification in Pediatric Radiology, and have the ability to obtain a State of Michigan medical license. Additional subspecialty fellowship training beyond 1-year of Pediatric Radiology is positively regarded. Evidence of clinical and teaching is competence is expected.
