Responsibilities:
Provide clinical leadership in education, research, management of physicians and practitioners, scheduling, and collaboration with community affiliates.
Schedule: 2 days of clinic and 2 days of OR/week, with 0.2 FTE of administrative duties.
Gait Lab responsibilities, including Medical Director of the Gait Lab.
Educate medical students, residents, and fellows through lectures, workshops, and training sessions.
Engage in research activities, contribute to advancements in pediatric orthopedics, and publish findings in reputable journals.
Participate in regional outreach programs, community initiatives, and represent the facility at professional conferences and events.
Attend monthly Board of Governor meetings and maintain with Shriners Fraternity
Requirements:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
Must hold a current board certification from the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery
Successful completion of a fellowship in Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery
At least eight years post fellowship experience required.
Must possess or be eligible for Louisiana medical license
DEA license
Neuromuscular background preferred, but not required.
Active participation in professional associations, such as POSNA
