We are seeking a Senior Director of Pharmacy Services to provide strategic and operational leadership and direction for our pharmacy services at MU Health Care. The ideal candidate will have experience in both retail and hospital settings, with a strong understanding of the industry and the ability to network effectively. While familiarity with hospital environments is important, we welcome candidates whose careers have included other healthcare settings as well.
The Senior Director of Pharmacy Services will be responsible for ensuring that our clinical pharmaceutical practices are in line with policies, regulations, and best practices. Compliance with 340B regulations is particularly important, so experience in this area is required. In addition, the Senior Director will oversee the safe and efficient delivery of medications and manage our distribution operation. We are looking for a leader who can develop and enforce administrative policies and procedures, set and achieve goals for continuous improvement, and collaborate effectively with other leaders and staff. Shift: Salaried day shift
Compensation: $167,000.00 to $273,000.00 annually depending on experience
Plan, organize, and direct pharmacy services and operations to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing of medications.
Develop and enforce administrative policies and procedures consistent with University of Missouri policies and procedures, as well as regulatory and statutory requirements.
Oversee the pharmaceutical contracting, procurement, receiving, security, drug inventory control, distribution processes, and quality assurance control standards.
Set and achieve goals to drive continuous assessment and improvement in the quality of care and services provided.
Develop a budget and monitor financial performance. Create or drive business plans to support growth and planning.
Collaborate with Hospital administrators, physicians, and/or other leaders and staff to resolve issues, promote communication, and support and advance strategic plans and initiatives of MU Health Care.
Partner with medical and nursing staff in a multidisciplinary manner. Recruit, retain, and develop highly skilled professional staff to meet patient care needs.
Instruct and advise staff on changes in policies, procedures, or working standards.
Engage in understanding peer organizations and the professional field, including best practices, to maintain the professional competence, knowledge, and skills necessary for the satisfactory performance and continuous improvement of all assigned areas.
Establish and maintain relationships with professional organizations and regulatory agencies.
Pharmacist licensure by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy.
Seven (7) years of pharmacy experience.
Two (2) years of hospital leadership experience.
Experience with pharmacy automation systems and electronic health record systems.
Experience in hospital pharmacy operations including 340B management, claims adjudication, pharmacy system automation, and medication reconciliation.
Completion of PGY1 pharmacy residency.
Master of Business Administration or Master of Science degree.
