Position: Primary Sports Medicine Service, Hospital for Special Surgery

The Primary Sports Medicine Service (PSM) at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York seeks to add a dynamic physician at the assistant or associate level to anchor our clinical program at our expanding and well established facility in Uniondale, NY. This growing practice has recently increased capacity for on-site, state-of-the-art physical therapy, radiology and physician offices. The office serves a large a large, active population, and a multitude of youth sports programs. This position is ideal for sports physicians with an interest in musculoskeletal ultrasound.
Sports Medicine at HSS Uniondale houses comprehensive orthopedic and musculoskeletal services, including:
•Access to sports medicine specialists via traditional and open scheduling models to enhance the growth of the physician practice
•High-end physical therapy and rehabilitation services •Includes a state-of-the art on-site gym
•Innovative sports performance programming harnessing digital and video technologies
•An array of additional surgical and non-surgical HSS subspecialties
•Ultrasound and MRI capabilities on site Responsibilities: •Clinical practice providing comprehensive sports medicine care to adults and children.
•Active role in the educational and academic activities of the PSM Service.
•Team and sport event coverage opportunities. •The development of research projects, and/or collaboration in research is encouraged, but not required.
Compensation: Competitive package with base salary and productivity bonus.
The PSM Service has 18 sports medicine physicians dedicated to treating athletic injuries. The mission of the Service is to care for active individuals and athletes of all levels, from elite to recreational. The members of the Service include nationally recognized leaders in clinical care and research. The PSM attending physicians have worked with professional, Olympic and college teams including 7 New York area professional sports teams, as well as other national organizations such as the New York Road Runners. USA Basketball, HSS is also designated as a FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence. HSS and the PSM service offer the latest innovations in clinical care, performance, imaging and rehabilitation.

This suburban location in Long Island also provides convenient access to the Hamptons beach communities as well as all of the offerings of New York City. The newly renovated facility is in the heart of Nassau County near parks, shopping and excellent schools in the surrounding towns.

Minimum Qualifications: • MD required • Current Board Certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Internal Medicine-Pediatrics combined, or Emergency Medicine • Current CAQ in Sports Medicine, or CAQ eligible if completing fellowship training • Team physician experience preferred
