Job Description:
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Department of Epidemiology in the School of Public Health is inviting applications from outstanding candidates for a full-time tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor (12-month appointments with rank and tenure status commensurate with qualifications). Eligible candidates must have a PhD, MD, or equivalent doctoral degree with graduate-level training in epidemiology or a closely related field. Preferred qualifications include a record of peer-reviewed publications, experience in teaching graduate or undergraduate level epidemiology courses and demonstrated ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary, collaborative academic setting. For the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, applicants should have evidence of securing extramural funding to support an independent research program. We are seeking applicants with a priority for those who have or can develop research programs in high-priority funding areas, including but not limited to aging (e.g., brain health, physical functioning), social determinants of health, infectious diseases (e.g., HIV/AIDS), and other chronic disease and disability outcomes (e.g., multimorbidity, musculoskeletal conditions, cancer). Applicants with research programs that will enhance and build on the departmental strengths in cardiovascular diseases, genomics/epigenomics, and health disparities will also be considered.

Required Qualifications:
