Position description The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery within the School of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego (http://ortho.ucsd.edu/) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and is recruiting for Orthopaedic Surgeons with fellowship training in Adult Hip and Knee Reconstruction.
The locations for the positions will be at UC San Diego Health or at UC San Diego Health with the VA San Diego.
Responsibilities will include patient care, teaching, and research.
The appointment will be at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level and will be based on the candidate's background and experience.

Salary is commensurate with the candidate's experience and background and based on the University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.
As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities and that clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited. Basic qualifications (required at time of application) Candidates must meet the following criteria:
MD or equivalent degree or MD/PhD in health-related fields.
Completed a U.S.-accredited residency training program in Orthopaedic Surgery
Have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
Be American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery board eligible or certified. Additional qualifications (required at time of start) Candidates must have completed fellowship training in Adult Hip and Knee Reconstruction at the time of start Application Requirements
