SPORTS MEDICINE ORTHOPAEDIC SURGEON (ACADEMIC POSITION)

Assistant/Associate Level Position

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is recruiting for an orthopaedic surgeon with sports medicine and translational research subspecialty expertise.

The practice will provide diagnostic, interventional, and surgical management for patients with a variety of diagnoses, with a focus on hip arthroscopy and complex sports medicine. The incumbents will be expected to participate in basic/translational research with a goal of research support from the NIH in the form of a pathway to independence award (K award). Competitive applicants will have a strong track record in receiving grant support for research projects. The selected individuals will also be responsible for and provide an integral role to teach clinically relevant topics for residents as well as medical students and fellows. Both didactic and bedside teaching is required.

Requirements:
Applicant must have all requirements met by time of hire.

* A valid California medical license will be required as a condition of employment.
* Board certified or eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery.
* Completion of a fully accredited Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program.
* Completion of a Sports Medicine Fellowship Program.
* For Associate level, evidence of academic teaching and publication record.
