Directs operations of a programmatic function. Operates with a high degree of independence. Responsible for program development, content, and administration. Establishes program objectives, manages programmatic fiscal activities, supervises staff engaged in carrying out program activities, and may require grant writing and/or other ability to secure program funding. Prepares various reports for the program.
Duties and Responsibilities
Serves as senior staff lead and liaison with clinical/research staff, University Departments, ancillary departments, and/or external collaborators.
Oversees intramural/extramural research portfolio for Division faculty including NIH-funded center grants (e.g. P series), training grants (e.g. K/T programs), and investigator-initiated clinical trials.
Works with investigators/key staff to prepare grant submissions. This includes overseeing/leading OSP/ASSIST/COMMONS submissions, assisting with the preparation of scientific research plans/protocols, budgets, justifications, and all ancillary grant documents (e.g. Human Subjects, Facilities Resources, etc), and drafting/editing progress reports).
Oversees day-to-day operations of research projects with support from staff including arranging meetings, speakers, IRB/regulatory submissions, and drafting/editing scientific reports.
Coordinates the Center pilot program and RFA timeline.
Develops budgets for studies; oversees the completion of study startup activities, and regulatory filings maintenance (e.g. WIRB).
Negotiates contracts with sponsors and sub-sites.
Trains, manages, and delegates tasks to staff (e.g. i2b2 queries, data entry, initial CBR development; IRB renewal preparation, invoicing, payment request).
Works with Division Director and Division Administrator to ensure activities and programs of the Comprehensive Arthritis, Musculoskeletal, Bone, and Autoimmunity Center are thriving.
Assists PIs, Program Director, and Nurse Coordinator with drafting/editing study protocols and manual of procedures.
Assists PIs, Program Director, and Nurse Coordinator to develop and maintain/update manual of operating procedures including strategies for recruitment for Division studies.
Assists PIs, Program Director, and Nurse Coordinator with FDA filings, regulatory submissions, and maintaining documentation.
Ensures study and clinical research study recruitment goals are monitored/maintained.
Works with Program Director and Nurse Coordinators to ensure data integrity and answer data queries.
Assists PI, Statisticians, and team with reviewing/interpreting data for scientific publication and submitting materials for publication.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Annual Pay Range: $60,835 - $98,855
Bachelor's degree in a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirements.
