The Department of Rehabilitative Sciences seeks an experienced and entrepreneurial-minded physical therapist for a unique opportunity to practice in primary care settings with an interdisciplinary focus. The position begins July 01, 2022.

Responsible to the Department Chairperson and the Program Director in Physical Therapy, this position will be embedded within ETSU Health's Family Medicine and other locations as needed. This is an exciting ground-level opportunity to develop and grow innovative, interdisciplinary rehabilitative services with the opportunity for increasing leadership responsibilities. The position is a non-traditional outpatient position and is focused on the primary care model. The candidate will work directly in the family medicine clinic collaborating and sharing space with other providers. This clinic provides medical, behavioral health, pharmacological, rehabilitative, and nutritional services to patients in Kingsport and surrounding regions. This position is primarily clinical practice with clinical teaching through DPT student placement and mentoring within ETSU's post-professional Residency and Fellowship programs. The patient population mainly consists of outpatient conditions related to musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, and cardiopulmonary systems. However, pelvic health and pediatrics are also seen in this clinic.

The Department of Rehabilitative Sciences is a fast-growing, multidisciplinary department with over 30 tenured, tenure-track, clinical, and adjunct faculty and support staff offering a Doctor of Physical Therapy, Doctor of Occupational therapy, undergraduate and graduate programs in nutrition and dietetics, a graduate certificate in sports nutrition, and a bachelor's degree in rehabilitative health sciences.

The department is located within the College of Clinical and Rehabilitative Health Sciences, which includes numerous programs including speech and language pathology, audiology, respiratory therapy, social work, and allied health sciences. The College is part of the University's Academic Health Sciences division, which also houses the James H. Quillen College of Medicine, the Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy, the College of Public Health, and the College of Nursing. The candidate will join a dynamic and growing department focused on Interprofessional education and clinical training.
