The focus of Dr. Feeley and Dr. Liu’s lab at UCSF/SFVA is to understand how stem cells interact and differentiate during muscle regeneration. We run a highly productive and creative translational lab within the UCSF Department of Orthopedic Surgery. We focus on clinically relevant models of injury and repair, particularly rotator cuff injuries. We are collaborating with Dr. Kevin Healy at UC-Berkeley to develop a novel matrix-assisted promyogenic fibro/adipogenic progenitor (FAP) stem cells transplantation therapy in treating rotator cuff tears.
