Clinical Research Coordinator works independently, with general direction from the PI, and plays a critical role in managing all aspects of patient and policy studies. This requires close interaction with patient care staff, research team members and study personnel at other sites. Study duties include supporting the management, and coordination and execution of research protocols, including coordination of the data/specimen collection and operations of several concurrent clinical research studies under the guidelines of research protocols, UCSF and regulating agency policies. This includes but is not limited to managing and reporting on study results; create, clean, update, and manage databases and comprehensive datasets and reports; and coordinate project workflow with research team members. Critical duties include management of protocols in the CHR system as well as all other reporting / compliance requirements. Act as a resource for orthopaedic residents working on clinical research projects, including providing guidance in generating hypotheses, study design, data collection, statistical analysis, and manuscript preparation. Identify potential funding sources; writing and/or editing grant proposal; and perform other duties as assigned.
