This role will provide an opportunity to lead significant packaging and Automation projects and will work within the Engineering team with responsibility for but not limited to the following:
Key Areas of Responsibility
Working with process and project engineering to plan and deliver automation projects with particular focus on packaging automation.
Responsible for Automation engineering design and optimisation.
Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, drive continuous improvement and process optimisation using tools such as DMAIC, SMED and FMEA.
Work to prepare User Requirements, Functional Design and Software Design Specifications, and other such associated documentation, for automated equipment and systems in accordance with recognised codes of practice
Ensure full compliance with all regulatory, site and divisional requirements in respect of validation of systems.
Drive integration between equipment automation systems and the site systems such as MES and OEE
Analyse and troubleshoot and modify a wide range of automation solutions
Liaise with digitalization team on site infrastructure requirements and development to support data analysis and automated system requirements
Researches new technology and industry best practices and apply knowledge to products and processes.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills
Degree or equivalent in relevant Engineering or Science discipline (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electronic, Production etc.), with a minimum of 4 years automation experience in a team based regulated manufacturing environment.
Good knowledge of GMP / FDA regulatory requirements and current Health and Safety Regulations and legislation.
A proven track record in designing, commissioning, validating and maintaining automated solutions.
Demonstrable analytical & problem-solving skills using recognised methodologies, a process improvement orientation, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment
Project Management skillset would be a distinct advantage.
A confident and effective decision maker, with a proven leadership ability to negotiate and influence others.
Excellent presentation and written / verbal communication skills
A team player, with a flexible approach.
Clearly demonstrable ability to work autonomously
