Stryker is hiring a Staff Engineer, R&D to be located in Salt Lake City, Utah
What you will do
Join a driven, growing team in a fast-paced environment where engineering excellence matters. Collaborate with industry to support the design and develop of market leading products. Core responsibilities of this role include:
Successfully contributes to project teams typically including the following activities: product design and development, Fixture development for manufacturing processes. Equipment development including Automation.
Works independently to plan and schedule own activities necessary to meet project timelines.
Designs and coordinates fixtures to manufacture Stryker New Products. Prototype and Testing of fixture/equipment , analyzes, and draws conclusions from test results. Prepare and finalize supporting drawing and relevant documentation .
Performs troubleshooting on new products/process problems as related to design, material, or process.
Trains and provides work direction for junior team members
Works cooperatively with, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical, and marketing to ensure project success.
Invents/ creates concepts and designs and submits idea disclosures.
What you need
B.S. or M.S. degree in Biomedical, Mechanical or applicable technical field
At least 4 years of experience applicable to medical device design or equivalent
Skills relevant to the role: mechanical design, CAD (Solidworks pref.), statistics/data analysis, materials/mechanical testing, communication of technical information via written reports and verbal presentations
Ability to work successfully in a collaborative, team-based environment with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
