We are currently seeking a Staff Engineer located in Mahwah, New Jersey.

What you will do:
Develop into a polymer science and processing Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the department and division
Provide scientific and technical leadership in polymer science and processing
Provide polymer expertise across cross-functional teams to support and sustain existing products
Provide technical support for regulatory filings, regulatory reregistrations, polymeric product improvement and development
Identify basic research opportunities on polymers to support product research and development efforts
Works closely with cross-functional teams both within and outside of the department to identify unmet needs and technical challenges and to evaluate new technologies and innovative solutions for unmet clinical and technical needs
Work with cross-functional teams on polymer technology development and testing, and product development & commercialization
Generate prospective research project plans including test protocols to validate proof-of-concept assessment
Generate technical memos and reports to a level of detail as required by the audience, up to and including that necessary to support regulatory submission
Keep abreast of latest research and pertinent technical literature
Acquire new skills outside of polymers to drive additional business needs
What you need:
Minimum of bachelor's degree in Materials Science or Chemistry, with a strong focus on polymers
Advanced degree, strongly preferred
5+ years of overall experience inclusive of advanced degree education
Demonstrated creativity and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated project management/leadership skills
Working knowledge and experience in polymer chemistry, physics or processing is highly desired
Working knowledge and experience in physical, mechanical, analytical testing of polymers desired
Demonstrated knowledge in structure-property relationships highly desired
Knowledge of US and international standards desired
Desire and ability to acquire new skills outside of polymers to drive additional business needs
Excellent interpersonal skills to work in interdisciplinary teams
Excellent communication skills (including writing and public presentation)
Must be comfortable working in a dynamic, fast paced environment
Hybrid Role: You will need to live within commuting distance to our Mahwah, NJ office. You will need to be in the office 2-3 days a week, but you will have the flexibility to work from home on the other days.
