Physician with specialty in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and with a special interest and skills in the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic conditions that result in spine pain. Specifically, this individual will require experience in the clinical provision of spinal injection procedures for the localization and treatment of disorders of the lumbar spine. Duties are but not limited to: Leadership role in the development of a local integrated spine care program including orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, rehabilitation and pain management is an important requirement. Experience in the use of musculoskeletal ultrasound is highly preferred. . In addition to these specific tasks involving spine disorders, additional clinical work in other areas of clinical need such as general musculoskeletal disorders, electrodiagnosis, or general rehabilitation may be necessary depending on clinical need. Attending home call coverage is required. An interest and skills in the education of residents, fellows, medical students and other health care trainees is a requirement of this position. The use of conventional and innovative educational strategies in lecture and clinical teaching is encouraged. Although research is not a critical portion of this position. Research competencies will be considered an asset. If specific research competencies that would enable independent investigator research funding and research success, it is expected that support of ongoing relevant research projects would occur.
