In this role you will lead a team of professionals for the packaging sustaining function of Joint Replacement. You will manage the day-to-day support of the team to in the development and maintenance of compliant packaging designs.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Provide direct Leadership and support for activities relating to Packaging design and will actively participate on teams to support packaging activities for Supplier Initiated change requests, regulatory changes and Customer related packaging design complaints
Model team values and demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to the PSE Packaging vision and strategy by providing a high degree of participation in problem solving and decision making both locally and globally
Partner with other functions such as Quality Assurance, Regulatory Assurance, local site Operations teams, Product Development, Product Marketing, to provide the Customer network with a quality Packaging design in a timely manner
Liaise with our Global Packaging Solutions Group team to ensure solid alignment with a Divisional and standardized approach
Assist team members in the establishment of priorities, imparting a sense of urgency and importance to effectively manage the delivery of the Packaging design on time and within the right cost structure
Take the VOC (voice of the customer) input be it through a request for change, complaint (PER) or inquiry etc. and transfer it into appropriate action and response within the Packaging PSE Group ensuring proactive and satisfactory closure with the customer
Manage and maintain the department's budget during the operating year. Annually prepare and present the department's annual operating budget
Prepare and present status reports, as required to varying audiences and forums
Ensure compliance to the various regulatory standards that govern Packaging design within the Medical Device Industry
Liaising with Human Resources in employee selection, training & development, performance appraisals and disciplinary actions for the team
All other duties as assigned
What you need-
Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required (Preferably Packaging related)
8+ years related experience is required (3+ leadership experience in managing an Engineering/technical discipline or team is very strongly preferred)
Experience providing Packaging Engineering support in a new product function or manufacturing environment within the medical device or similar high technology environment
Strong leadership skills, proven ability to teach and coach individuals in technical areas. The individual must be a strategic thinker and should enjoy working in a dynamic and results motivated team-based environment
Excellent presentation and communication skills are required. Individual must possess the ability to present and represent at the various levels both inside and outside the organization
Flexibility is essential with strong project management skills
Self-starter with demonstrated efficient work methods, analytical & problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical skills with a high problem solving and process improvement orientation critical
