What You Will Do:
As an Associate Manager, under the guidance from the department leadership, you will provide management to team/teams tied to the commercialization of product through testing activities. This position will work closely with the Lab Manager and lead a highly technical team to support development and verification activities of various Stryker Instruments. This position will be required to keep up to date key department metrics and make recommendations on resource allocations, forecasting, and ensuring their team is prepared to fully support the needs of the business.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Evaluates the performance of the team based on pre-established performance parameters.
Responsible for direct reports complying with company policies and corrective actions.
Interview, hire, train, develop and retain top talent while ensuring a pipeline of talent is established for future roles.
Support the department sr leadership and coordinate with the Test Engineers on an ongoing basis regarding project updates and current/future status of the overall Test Lab performance.
Will ensure consistent practices within the department related to product verification, equipment creation, report writing and communication methods.
Will be required to comply with documentation procedures and appropriate engineering standards
Will coordinate with other business units to ensure appropriate tests, analysis, equipment and results are obtained
Will work from verbal and/or written instructions
Will train others on technical function related procedures
Will work with facilities in the improvement/maintenance of lab space
Will coach/mentor and develop subordinate employees
Will build and maintain working relationships within R&D
Will provide feedback into department strategic planning
What you need:
Bachelors Degree (preferred engineering)
5+ years of experience
Excellent mechanical/electrical/software problem solving skills.
Effective interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to operate small hand tools (e.g. pliers, screwdrivers, hammer, wrenches, etc.), power tools and common test equipment (e.g. data loggers, strip recorders, micrometers, etc.)
Advanced math and technical writing skills
Strong Project management skills
Proven people leader
Experience effectively communicating with large groups of people.
Demonstrated ability to lead/facilitate problem solving teams.
