What you will do
As a Principal Failure Analysis Engineer, you will develop and implement methods and procedures for identifying root cause of a failure in the product. You will design appropriate test methods to analyze failure modes for products. Collaborates with R&D, Regulatory and service operations on quality problems, ensures that effective failure mode data are available to address product quality improvements.
Lead technical team members in failure mode procedures development and identification of product failures.
Get failure analysis involve early in design life and collaborate with design team to troubleshoot design failures.
Own Failure analysis procedure creation and updates through regulated change management process.
Apply advanced engineering theories, principles, and concepts across various products within business.
Collaborates with Divisional QA, R&D and Regulatory teams to address top quality issues.
Work closely with service operations and the business functions to ensure quality performance of product and processes.
Support updates of risk documents as appropriate based on findings from failure analysis data.
Analyzes reports and defective products to determine failure trends and recommend corrective actions.
Support analysis of product related complaints and product field actions and recommend solutions.
Conduct advanced problem solving, identify potential solutions, and evaluate them against component and product requirements.
Analyze and correct complex product design issues, using independent judgment.
Responsible for the creation of "Technical investigation reports" relative to findings discovered during FA tool.
Handle multiple project streams in a fast-paced and collaborative setting.
Maintain key metrics to support service operations on customer repairs.
Applies statistical methods of analysis and process control to current operations.
Engage and interface in internal and external audits providing subject matter expertise
Execute internal quality deliverables associated with engineering changes and manufacturing transfers.
What you will need:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required
8+ years' experience in engineering, quality, manufacturing, NPD or working in a technical role or high regulated environment.
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical
Previous experience in a regulated environment preferred
Ability to work through each problem and find root cause of the failure.
Ability to interpret, analyze, and test mechanical components and systems.
Ability to apply analysis tools and statistical methods.
