What You Will Do
This position is responsible for the development and implementation of front-end application software and graphical user interfaces for medical robotics. This person understands the intricacies of complex software and systems and takes ownership of development tasks from design, testing and documentation while working on a team of other professionals.
Interact with clinical experts, the UX team, end-users and the management team to define key features and goals.
Implement compelling graphical user interfaces in 2D and 3D.
Collaborate with back-end application developers to create a responsive, safe and maintainable product.
Ensure responsiveness, stability and safety of the application.
Collaborate with the team to estimate and plan software development work.
Collaborate with other members of the team to ensure the highest quality of design and code throughout the application including software architecture, product planning, product requirements, and development procedures.
Document code according to professional and established standards. Create project documentation in accordance with established design controls and regulatory requirements.
Work with the team to optimize the software development process. Participate in goal setting and planning.
What You Need
Bachelors Degree in computer science, engineering or related fields. Equivalent experience will be taken into consideration
2+ years of experience working with user experience in software products.
Proficiency in C++/QT and other languages and frameworks.
MS Degree preferred
Experience programming user-facing features on software applications (please provide links to previous experience indicating specific features worked on).
Experience using design patterns for application design such as FLUX and MVC.
Experience creating 3D centric applications content using technologies such as QT 3D, Open Scene Graph or similar.
Expertise in Linear Algebra/3D Transformations/3D Graphics.
Expertise with best practices in unit testing and design verification testing.
Good understanding of software development design and programming best practices. Experience writing production code with focus on well structured, maintainable and testable software.
Experience working on regulated products, preferably medical.
Experience working on production software teams using an Agile development process.
Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, Perforce, Jenkins)
Experience developing VR and AR applications involving haptic interfaces.
Excellent communication skills: able to convincingly present design solutions to various stakeholders.
