What You Will Do
As a Senior Embedded Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of embedded software and hardware for medical imaging devices and robotic assisted interventions.
Conduct or design prototyping and bench testing.
Conduct problem solving, identify potential solutions, and evaluate them against component and sub-system requirements.
Conduct research and studies to support product design.
Translate design inputs to engineering specifications and produce component and sub-system level designs.
Code development time/resource estimation to support projects.
Design new components applying various design concepts.
Generate and review the necessary documents with project teams (requirements, design, architecture, bugs, test).
Collaborate with software developers, mechanical designers, and product management to develop a systems level architecture for medical imaging devices and robotic assisted interventions.
Develop firmware, including device drivers, libraries, and applications on an embedded platform.
Design and detail system's layout, wiring, and the required circuit boards.
Generate product requirements, design specifications, and test protocols
Develop documentation to support regulatory filings and internal reports.
Participate in formal Verification and Validation activities.
Follow fundamental industry standards, design requirements and test strategies which apply to regulatory requirements.
Independently create or refine engineering documentation, such as the Design History file.
Follow R&D procedure like design controls and risk management, per the Quality Management System.
Develop and design software components per requirements and architecture defined.
What you will need
BS Degree in EE, Computer Engineering or related areas
4+ years of related experience
Experience with developing code for embedded systems including a deep understanding of C and C++
Experience with programming microcontrollers (PICs, dsPICs, ARM Cortex Mx, ARM Cortex A).
Design new components applying various concepts design concepts and patterns.
Experience with integrated development environments (IDE) for projects.
Experience with software tools for static/dynamic analysis, memory management, code coverage and techniques for analyzing software.
Experience in creating estimates for code implementation time/resource for assigned tasks.
Experience using Application Lifecycle Management /Traceability tools.
Device driver development of Timer, ADC, RTC, DMA modules. Common communications protocols I2C, SPI, UART, and USB State machines, RTOS, and time slice methods Memory management, interrupt controllers, and bootloadersDevice driver development of Timer, ADC, RTC, DMA modules.
