Stryker is looking to hire aSoftware Test Engineer to be based eitherinPortage, MI or Irvine CAto support a new digital platform for healthcare. Candidates living in other areas of Michigan or California who are willing to travel to Portage or Irvine 2 days a week will also be considered (hybrid remote).

What you will do:
Develop software according to SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) with primary points of focus on planning, defining requirements, testing, and deployment.
Act as Software Test Lead for a new product development project.
Take ownership of software test plans and drive execution of tests for Embedded Software in medical devices.
Co-develop software solutions by conducting research to understand user needs, data usage, systems flow, work processes, problem areas and bug reporting, and driving good code practices.
Provide engineering input to impact the design, coding and debugging of software in various coding languages including SOUP software.
Performs software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, software review, identification of code metrics, system risk analysis, and software reliability analysis
Perform Software build, Maintenance, and change control. Maintain software configuration management in Perforce.
Lead project team through Software Defect Management in all phases of development.
Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, such as electrical, mechanical and industrial design, to ensure that software will accomplish design goals for a product or system.
Help guide New Product Development teams through our quality system to ensure software is developed in compliance to internal procedures as well as the requirements of the FDA, ISO, and other regulatory bodies
Review and evaluate project tangibles for compliance as well as sound technical competence to ensure we are delivering robust products.
Perform software risk analysis and develop risk control measures and test strategies to ensure safe and reliable products are launched to Stryker's high quality standards.
Lead and author code reviews leveraged for formal design verification.
What you need:
Bachelor's in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field is required
4+ years of experience in software engineering (eg. design or testing) preferred, including experience with dot net/Microsoft Stack, Enterprise software, Cloud/Mobile software, modern DevOps
Experience with C#, Python, Kotlin, Java, Typescript
Regulated industry experience such as Medical, Aerospace, Defense, Communication is a plus.
ISTQB or ASTQB certification(s) or equivalent is beneficial
