In this role, you will be part of the Software Architecture team at Endoscopy. As part of this team, you will design and implement complex systems including application software architecture for multiple product lines. You will specialize in various technology domains and evaluate and select new technologies and new platforms. You will be responsible for providing technical direction and support to the engineering implementation teams as well as cross functional teams including systems engineering, marketing, testing and quality. You will also train and mentor engineers and work closely with peers to develop market leading software that meets Stryker's customer needs.
What You Will Do
You will lead and mentor technical team members in the design and development of components, sub-systems, and/or systems for medical devices.
You will both apply and mentor others on advanced engineering theories, principles, and concepts across various products within business unit.
You will assess and integrate new technologies and capabilities (prototyping, testing) for the organization.
You will mentor and influence in the correction of complex product design issues.
You will navigate and influence the Intellectual landscape for filings and protection.
You will translate user needs to design inputs/ specifications and produce system/architectural level layouts and platform designs.
You will develop and influence a number of invention disclosures, patents or trade secrets.
You will lead the architecture of a complex system and guide design tradeoff decisions.
You will lead technical team members in research, design, development, modification, and evaluation of Endoscopy products.
You will apply advanced engineering theories, principles, and concepts across various products within business and translate user needs to design inputs/ specifications and produce system/architectural level layouts and platform designs.
You will utilize your in-depth knowledge of the industry and competitive landscape.
You will partner with customers, internal and external key opinion leaders to develop technical strategies that meet clinical needs.
You will strategize and execute customer-facing activities like voice of customer and customer centric design across the business.
You will collaborate on financial / business modeling and support business reviews to validate a technical approach.
Med Device Compliance:
You will be an expert with extensive experience applying industry standards in device development.
You will act as independent reviewer and advisor for the creation or refinement of engineering documentation, such as the Design History file.
You will lead the development of standards and regulations, working closely with functions within and across business.
You will lead cooperative efforts with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing and Project Management to ensure project success.
You will lead and support team members to create or improve procedures, policies, processes, systems, and technology requirements.
You will mentor and grow technical talent.
You will lead code reviews for projects/systems as an independent reviewer applying design principals, coding standards and best practices.
What You Need
Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering/ Computer Science or related discipline required. Master's degree preferred.
8+ years of related work experience.
What We Would Love That You Have (Preferred)
Lead system software implementation using programming skills in C+ .NET, C++, Python and related frameworks.
Strong core computer science skills such as data structure design, architecture design, and algorithms
Expertise in Object-Oriented Analysis, designing and documenting software architecture.
Design, development and implementation of image processing algorithms. Experience deploying image processing algorithms on FPGA/GPU, as well as improvements to previously developed algorithms.
Image quality optimization and improvement
Understanding of FPGA/GPU architecture and FPGA/GPU based video/image processing pipeline.
Integration/Interfacing of FPGA/GPU based video/image processing components with the external sub systems.
Understanding and experience of video communication systems integration in OT and audio video routing solutions.
Design, development and deployment of machine learning and computer vision algorithms for clinical applications.
Understanding and experience of medical data and administrative data communication protocols such as DICOM and HL7 and workflows.
Understanding and experience on medical device connectivity and networking applications and protocols. Design and develop medical device networking solutions.
Understanding of Dev-Ops tools and process. Design & Develop Dev-Ops processes and engineering best practices.
Regulatory and compliance standards applied to the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).
