You will be based at our facility in Plymouth, MN and lead a multi-disciplinary team in establishing the needs of our customers while designing and bringing innovative solutions for ENT applications to market.

What You Will Do
You will drive sales growth through the development of new products from concept through product launch and commercialization. You will partner with the Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) R&D and marketing teams and have responsibility for executing the R&D strategy of new products and technologies used in ENT applications.
You will develop a culture of innovation, provide leadership, technical direction and oversight to product development teams. You will develop our organization's technical competencies, resource capacity, market and clinical knowledge required to manage the successful development of new products and technologies for global markets.
You will develop the Product Development team through the selection, recruitment and development of R&D engineers, and help develop their core technical skills and knowledge. You will also develop career progression paths & development plans for each member of your team along with establishing and monitoring individual and team goals aligned to our divisional and Stryker's corporate strategy.
You will have the opportunity to partner with divisional marketing and R&D teams on development of international market and surgeon networks and actively participate in global voice of customer meetings, customer/clinical trials, marketing/product training workshops and relevant health care professional conferences and seminars.
You will oversee development and execution of our Product and Technology roadmaps, including R&D project portfolio management and resource planning. You will plan and coordinate engineering research and product design including the identification, investigation and implementation of new product technologies.
You will lead a team in the execution of design projects and will monitor and control progress to ensure sound application of engineering principles are used, that design intent is being followed/achieved and will ensure designs are cost efficient, manufacturable and reliable.
You will participate in the development and implementation of project budgets. You will optimize R&D return on investment, and conduct cost benefit and break even analyses of proposed new product ventures including both process and product development.
You will ensure a collaborative partnership with Project Management in the compilation of project plans and coordination of project meetings to ensure timely introduction of new products. You will also assist in the coordination with business units, advanced operations, suppliers and functional leaders as needed to ensure specific cost, time and/or regulatory standards are met.
You will enable a partnership with the strategic sourcing and advanced operations to develop close strategic collaboration with external development partners, equipment and component suppliers, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM's) and technology partners to ensure appropriate vendor selection and optimum supply chain design.
You will maintain design control systems and procedures ensuring that all design activities adhere to FDA Quality System Regulations and ISO 13485 design control and risk management requirements.
What You Need
Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or Science discipline with some postgraduate qualification in biomedical/mechanical engineering or equivalent medical science training or experience.
6+ years relevant industry experience
What We Would Love that You Have - Preferred
Previous experience in managing engineering teams and conducting new product research and development is highly preferred. Strong leadership skills
Previous experience in the development of ENT medical devices is desirable.
Strategic thinking - excellent analytical skills, ability to plan, organize, and implement multiple concurrent tasks.
Good working knowledge of anatomy and surgical procedures.
Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communications skills with an ability to overcome language and cultural barriers.
Experience in executing complex problem-solving techniques related to design/technical issues.
In depth understanding of ISO 13485 and FDA quality system requirements.
Must be able to plan, organize, and implement multiple concurrent tasks and projects.
Good working knowledge of CAD/CAM/CAE computer systems, engineering materials and design, coating technologies and advanced manufacturing technologies.
Good understanding of design for six sigma and related statistical tools and validation/verification techniques.
