The Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) at the University of Southern California (USC) is currently seeking a talented and self-motivated Research Technician II to join the Laboratory of Dr. Albert E. Almada in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery; Department of Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine (SCRM).
The Almada Laboratory at USC is investigating one of the greatest mysteries in muscle regenerative biologyâhow stem cells are turned on (activated) to re-build functional muscle tissue after traumatic injury. His multi-disciplinary team integrates state-of-the-art experimental and bioinformatic approaches to study this biological phenomenon at the molecular, cellular, and organ level in various vertebrate species, ranging the evolutionary continuum from salamanders to mice and humans. The Almada labâs long-term goal is to translate their basic science discoveries into effective stem-cell based therapies that restore muscle function to injured athletes, wounded soldiers, the elderly, and patients suffering from degenerative muscular pathologies.
This is a fixed-term, full-time position, with the potential for renewal with adequate job performance and available funding. The successful candidate will be compensated according to their experience level.
