The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a full-time physiatrist to provide comprehensive musculoskeletal (MSK), spine, and sports care. This position will be expected to help build and start new clinical programs in msk/spine/sports. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy and functional spine mechanics to accurately diagnose and facilitate the non-interventional recovery of patients with cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine disorders as well as general musculoskeletal joint dysfunction. This position will participate in teaching, research, quality improvement, and administrative activities associated with an academic appointment. Some inpatient call is required. The successful candidate will be Board Eligible/Board Certified in PM&R. Specialty training in musculoskeletal medicine or sports medicine is preferred.
Education and Experience:
The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong leadership abilities, a record of interdisciplinary collaboration, and have the desire to be involved in enhancing quality of patient care and participating in research studies. Specialty training in musculoskeletal or sports medicine is preferred.
