Under close supervision of Orthopaedic Surgery Surgical Skills Laboratory Manager responsibilities include the following: Assist in surgical skills lab, set up equipment and stations for orthopedic and arthroscopic procedures. Prepare cadaver specimen labs, assist as needed during lab providing instrumentation for surgeons, opening disposables solution and troubleshooting equipment problems.
Graduation from high school or a General Education Diploma and two years of laboratory experience or two years of college including courses in the natural, physical or social sciences and one year of laboratory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position. Surgical Technology Training or Equivalent 1 year experience. Experience in OR setting preferred but not necessary with some orthopaedic procedure experience. Knowledge of basic surgical instrumentation. Willingness to learn new instrumentation and equipment.
