This position is in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. The position is located in Chesterfield, MO. Local travel to satellite offices will be necessary.
Supervises daily activities of PSR/clinical office support staff and ancillary services associated with patient care to ensure patient satisfaction.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises PSR/clinical office support staff involved in clinical activities in clinical office sites, maintaining adequate workflow, coverage and schedules.
Resolves personnel problems, conducts meetings pertinent to staffing issues and documents appropriately.
Interviews and hires applicants for positions, supervises training of new employees, conducts job evaluations, job performance counseling and makes salary recommendations.
Implements and maintains office procedure manuals and current job descriptions of personnel supervised.
Motivates staff by promoting team effort and department goals.
Acts as a liaison between service provider, patient clerical and support personnel.
Assists PSR staff as backup during illnesses/vacations.
Assures PSR areas are staffed and maintained.
Other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent high school certification.
Five years of related experience.
If order entry in the electronic medical record is part of the job’s responsibilities, Registered/Certified Medical Assistant or successfully achieve Medical Assistant registration/certification or pass assessment-based recognition (ABR) exam within 6 months of hire date or within a shorter time frame if noted by hiring manager. Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).
Excellent customer service skills.
Communication, organizational, medical terminology, computing and supervisory skills.
Understanding of insurance information, verification and referral process.
The hiring range for this position is $43,326 - $54,205 annually.
