The Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of the University of Southern California (USC) and Childrenâs Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) in the Department of Pediatrics in the Division of Orthoapedics, are actively seeking a full time faculty member for the position of Clinical Instructor. The Childrenâs Orthopaedic Center at Childrenâs Hospital Los Angeles is seeking a Pediatric Orthopaedic Clinical Instructor to work along 7 full-time pediatric orthopaedic surgeons. This is a Clinical Fellowship Position with one-year duration, beginning on August 1 and ending on July 31 of the following year. This position includes a faculty appointment for one year in the Department of Orthopaedics at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California. Approximately 90% of the Fellowâs time is involved with patient contact, either in the out-patient setting or in the operating room at multiple COC locations.  Childrenâs Hospital Los Angeles is the only Level I Pediatric Trauma Center in Los Angeles County. Pediatric trauma experience with significant, however the majority of operative cases are elective with pediatric orthopaedic problems ranging from simple to complex. This fellowship provides the Fellow with immense academic and clinical experience in diagnosis and management of children with a wide variety of pediatric orthopaedic conditions.  Our program accepts no more than two Fellows annually in order to optimize the Fellowâs experience during the year and to maximize their research and mentoring opportunities. As the Fellowâs abilities and motivation allow, Fellows will run their own half-day clinics and function as attending on-call approximately once per week at a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center with staff backup availability at all times. We have full-time, fellowship trained, attendings with sub-specialization in spine, sports, neuromuscular disorders, hand surgery, musculoskeletal oncology, hip disorders, and spinal bifida. Fellows participate in the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative management of these patients. Many opportunities for clinical research are available. Applicants must have completed an accredited orthopedic surgery program prior to the fellowship and must be Board-eligible. A valid California medical license and a California fluoroscopy license are required prior to the start of the fellowship. The primary practice location is at Childrenâs Hospital Los Angeles, which is the largest and most comprehensive pediatric hospital in the Los Angeles area that includes a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, and a state-of-the-art Motion Analysis Laboratory. There may be additional travel to other off-site centers. Academic appointment through USC Keck School of Medicine is available at a level appropriate to training and experience.
