As the director of this program, you will be an integral part of our department's success and contribute to the tripartite mission of the UNC School of Medicine, including excellent patient care, superior teaching, and impactful research. You will have the opportunity for ongoing personal and professional development including a mentoring subcommittee that helps build the framework to a successful career, including counseling around career goals. Our sports medicine program is based in our Durham clinic and also provides services in our Chapel Hill clinic. Our fellows train in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. Services include care for acute and chronic injuries, concussion management, women's health, a runner's clinic, and orthobiologic treatments. The program takes three fellows per year in a highly competitive match. Our staff includes three other sports medicine faculty, a nutritionist, and sports trainers. Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: Education and Experience: The ideal program director has experience working with multidisciplinary teams and program and/or systems development. Experience in sports medicine research including familiarity with IRB processes is valued. Leadership and teaching experience is highly desired.
