School/College: School of Medicine Job Description: The Division of Clinical Immunology & Rheumatology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking clinicians, clinical investigators, and investigators in basic mechanisms of rheumatic and autoimmune diseases for Instructor of Medicine (non-tenure earning), Assistant Professor of Medicine (tenure-earning and non-tenure earning), Associate Professor of Medicine (non-tenure earning, tenure-earning, and tenured) and Professor (non-tenure earning, tenure-earning, and tenured) positions. The Division is a top-ranked program with exceptional strengths in a broad array of clinical areas, including RA, SLE, vasculitis, scleroderma, osteoporosis and other diseases. The Division has excellent investigators in each of these areas as well as in outcomes research and in basic studies of immunology, autoimmunity and genetics. The Division is affiliated with the UAB Comprehensive Arthritis, Musculoskeletal, Bone, and Autoimmunity Center, which draws together multidisciplinary teams. Clinician educators (Rheumatologists) with a primary interest in clinical care and teaching who value an academic environment dedicated to improving the understanding and treatment of rheumatic disease. 2. Clinical investigators with interests in the epidemiology, outcomes, and/or testing experimental therapeutics in rheumatic and autoimmune diseases. 3. PhD investigators and physician-scientists interested in fundamental mechanisms of arthritis and autoimmunity in humans and animal models.
