A postdoctoral position is available immediately in Musculoskeletal Growth & Regeneration Laboratory (MGRL) (Director: Dr. Hongshuai Li) in Department of Orthopaedics Surgery, University of Pittsburgh. The applicant will be mainly conduct NIH-funded basic and translational researches related to muscle/bone cross talk in muscular dystrophy and aging. The applicant will also have the opportunity to perform cutting-edge basic and translational studies in musculoskeletal diseases and tissue regeneration. You will play an important role in the multi-disciplinary group that is both rigorous and collaborative, and you will have the opportunity to learn how to lead science projects. The applicant will have exposure to the development of novel mouse models for both mechanistic and therapeutic studies. The applicant should have a recent or expected Ph. D degree in biological, biomedical or physical sciences. Experience in cell cultures and assays, mouse handling, tissue preparation and histology, immuno-histochemistry, flow cytometry is required. Experience with stem cell biology and familiarity with skeletal muscle or bone pathophysiology will be a plus. The successful candidate should be highly motivated, have a strong publication track record, strong written and verbal English communication skills. Start date is immediate.
