Academic Spine Interventionalist for UPMC / University of Pittsburgh
Assistant/Associate/Professor, NT (full-time)
Fellowship-trained neuroradiologist or musculoskeletal radiologist with interest in spine interventions needed to join state-of-the-art subspecialized academic practice to replace retiring physician. The Interventional Spine Service at UPMC provides a comprehensive scope of spine procedures, both diagnostic and therapeutic, for both inpatient and outpatients. The service has an established referral base and sees about 2000 patient visits per year. Services provided include nerve root blocks, epidural steroid injections,, medial branch blocks, trigger point injections, SI joint injections, sympathetic blocks, discography, spine biopsy, vertebral body augmentation, sacroplasty, blood patches, spine/skin markings, and radiofrequency ablation for both chronic pain (including hip/knee) and neoplastic disease. Radiologists are supported by two full time nurses, who are responsible for day to day operations of the service and provide clinical assistance with patient assessments and procedures.
Applicants should have a focused interest in spine imaging and intervention, clinical and research. An interest in expansion of service line with new procedures is strongly encouraged.
Applicants will spend approximately 50% of clinical time on the Interventional Spine Service, and the other 50% on a fully subspecialized musculoskeletal or neuroradiology team with associated teaching responsibilities. Research opportunities and support are abundant.

MD degree, or equivalent
Completion of an ACGME accredited diagnostic radiology residency
Completion of a neuroradiology or musculoskeletal imaging fellowship
ABR certified or eligible
Eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania
