JOB SUMMARY: To assist with patient care and management under the responsibility and supervision of the surgeon. To perform diagnostic and therapeutic tasks to allow the physician to extend his/her services. Assists in gathering the data necessary in implementing the diagnosis and, thereby, the therapeutic plan of the surgeon.
A major role will be as patient advocate in the medical care system, serving as confidant, advisor, and liaison between patients and physicians.
Reports directly to the surgeon for all patient-care-related functions.
COMPETENCIES & SKILLS:Must have proven ability to work in a team environment, demonstrated deep concern for the health and well-being of others, must be able to deal with patients in such a way as to instill confidence and ease of communication
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: The successful Physician Assistant candidate will work under the responsibility and supervision of the physician and require completion of an ARC-PA (or predecessor organization) approved physician assistant program, current NCCPA certification or eligibility and Pennsylvania State licensure.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:Work is typically performed in a clinical environment.
