The Department of Orthopaedics at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill (UNC) is seeking a full-time board certified academic orthopaedic sports surgeon to join its team supporting collegiate athletes. This position is at the flagship academic medical center of a statewide health care system that includes 13 hospitals and more than 5,000 affiliated providers. The successful candidate will hold an academic appointment (open rank – commensurate with experience) and will be expected to teach orthopaedics residents and be actively engaged in scholarship and research. The orthopaedic surgeon will participate in the development of a robust academic program. They will participate in a clinical program that serves the academic medical center, community practices and the wider healthcare system that spans the state of North Carolina. They will provide the highest quality of patient care, while creating an academic environment that is positive and inclusive for faculty and learners.
Education and Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications, skills or experiences:
Board Certified or Board eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery
Fellowship in Orthopaedic Sports Surgery
Hip Arthroscopy experience, strongly preferred
Academic rank commensurate with experience
