Part-time Junior Specialist – Department of Orthopaedic Surgery The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco is looking for a part-time Junior Specialist to complete a defined project. The candidate will be expected to devote 10% effort to this project. The successful candidate will perform histology and histomorphometry to access healing outcomes. The candidate must have (or in process of obtaining) a Bachelor Degree in Biology or Biology related fields. Applicant’s materials must list (pending) qualifications upon submission. Applicants must have obtained the degree requirement for the Specialist rank by the time of hire. The candidate will have with an interest in bone, and will exhibit the ability to learn methods for quantitative methods of bone biology. Appointees in the Specialist series will be expected to engage in specialized research, professional activities and do not have teaching responsibilities. Specialists are expected to use their professional expertise to make scientific and scholarly contributions, and may participate in University and Public Service. Screening of applicants will begin immediately and will continue as needed throughout the recruitment period. Salary and rank will be commensurate with the applicants experience and training.
