Responsible for providing advanced administrative support to the Achieving Excellence Office. Ensures advanced administrative activities provide efficiency and organization to the Office.
Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of Geisinger in its efforts to provide quality patient care and patient satisfaction.
Works under the general supervision of Vice President, Achieving Excellence.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Reviews and provides direction for principal's mail. Answers and coordinates responses when appropriate; filters/delegates when necessary. Collects, composes, types and distributes forms, lists, memos, routine and confidential correspondence as requested.
*Schedules internal meetings, meeting rooms, conference calls, equipment, catering as requested; Assembles necessary background materials as requested; Participates in office meetings, prepares agendas and handouts for Office and associated meetings; Manages Sharepoint, project trackers and other resources to support Office objectives and activities.
*Relies on experience and judgment to independently plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals.
*Coordinates work projects, edits correspondence, researches information and prepares complex reports on significant matter for executive level review.
*Uses independent judgment to carry out succession steps and handle problems and deviations in accordance with precedent and interpretation of resource information, including policies and regulations.
*Prepares confidential administrative correspondence and reports to top level executives, individual Board members and Board subcommittees.
*Handles complex and sensitive operational issues and provides conflict resolution.
*Performs other duties as required or assigned by emergency or other operational reasons for which the employee is qualified to perform.

COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
OFFICE ADMINISTRATION-Ability to carry out ongoing office administration tasks effectively and efficiently in support of local and remote teams.
INDEPENDENT WORK-Demonstrates ability to work independently or with limited supervision.
TIME MANAGEMENT-Time management refers to a range of skills, tools, and techniques used to manage time when accomplishing specific tasks, projects and goals. This set encompass a wide scope of activities, and these include planning, allocating, setting goals, delegation, analysis of time spent, monitoring, organizing, scheduling, and prioritizing.
ADVANCED COMPUTER SKILLS-Working Knowledge including but not limited to the Following: Microsoft Operating System and Network Operating System (NOS), Novell Netware, Unix Operating System, Citrix, SharePoint, etc.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Associates degree required.
5 years of secretarial experience required. Experience may be in lieu of a degree.
Advanced or Complex office experience required

GEISINGER MEDICAL CENTER: (GMC), located Danville, Pa., the largest tertiary/quaternary care teaching hospital in the region, is licensed for 475 beds, including 89 pediatric beds in the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital.
