The Childrenâs Orthopaedic Center at Childrenâs Hospital Los Angeles is seeking aÂ pediatric orthopaedist to join 8 other full-time pediatric orthopaedic surgeons. A year-longÂ Fellowship in pediatric orthopaedics is required. This is a unique position for an individual that wants an academic career in pediatric orthopaedics.Â The ideal candidate has special interest in neuromuscular conditions.Â Also, interest in trauma, benign tumors and complex lower extremity reconstruction is a plus. In addition to treating orthopaedic trauma patients through sharing of on-call responsibilities, the candidate would be expected to manage other pediatric orthopaedic patients.
This position includes a faculty appointment in the Department of Orthopaedics at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California.Â Participation in teaching of medical students and orthopaedic residents, as well as clinical research, is expected.Â A competitive salary and benefits package will be offered.
The primary practice location is at Childrenâs Hospital Los Angeles, which is the largest and most comprehensive pediatric hospital in the Los Angeles area and also includes a Level I pediatric trauma center.Â Limited travel to off-site Centers will be likely.Â A state-of-the-art Motion Analysis Laboratory is present within the Orthopaedic Center, which also provides support for clinical research.
