The Clinical Research Coordinator is a full-time position with 100% effort in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.
The position is responsible for the screening of subjects and outcome testing. These services include taking medical histories, administering questionnaires, evaluation procedures such as vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate), clinical tests (e.g., joint range of motion) and administering performance-based functional tests (e.g. muscle strength and task-specific tests that assess gait speed, balance, and ability to climb steps, and other similar functional activities).
The incumbent will also: - Follow good clinical practice standards and adhere strictly to guidelines for ethical conduct of research pertaining to human subjects - Maintain quality control of all study-related procedures to ensure accurate/valid study data and results, and also maintain an inventory of clinical lab supplies - Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies, identifying and enrolling research participants in research studies - Develop procedures for safety monitoring in research studies, such as reporting unanticipated problems, adverse events and serious adverse events, based on research policies and recommended procedures - Develop and update regulatory documentation of research studies, such as study protocol, manual of operating procedures and progress reports for single site and multicenter studies - Supervise research staff and training of study procedures - Participate, help facilitate, and organize for conference call including preparation and debriefing
Master's degree and 2-3 years of experience required.
