Pend imaging orders per clinical protocol.*Obtain and document patient vital signs. Communicate with the RN if appropriate, for social, medical or educational concerns. *Anticipates arrival of scheduled patients and completes intake tasks promptly.*Monitors room lights, flags or other signals for indications of necessary patient care.*Identify the paperwork requirements for the visit and communicate those needs with provider or appropriate staff. Fill out the paperwork as completely as possible for example: return to work, physical therapy, prescription(s), and nursing home forms.*Determine the supplies and equipment needed for the patient visit.*Ensure a signed physician order is completed before submitting the patient for an x-ray, remove and apply casts and/or splints, remove sutures as per established clinic orders.*Complete tests as ordered by the provider including but not limited to venipunctures, specimen collection, ECG testing, orthostatic BP measurements.*Apply, repair, remove and mend cast and appliances for clinic patients and document these procedures in the patient's medical record as per established clinic protocols. Provide patient teaching as appropriate and document teaching in the electronic medical record.*Assess and evaluate cast problems.*Provides patient education regarding cast care and mobility. Also makes post visit phone call for quality assurance.*Set-up and assist orthopedic surgeon for minor procedure(s) to include pin and/or screw removal with use of fluroscan as per established clinic protocols. Provide patient teaching as appropriate and document teaching/care in the electronic medical record.*Coordinate with other clinic and/or intradepartmental staff to ensure a smooth clinic flow.*Make return to clinic appointment for patient(s) per established scheduling protocols and as needed coordinate transportation for the patient.*Completes in-patient casting per order as needed*Monitors patient flow throughout the clinic to assure efficient clinic operations.*Other duties as assigned by Charge RN, Assistant Nurse Manager or Clinic Manager.Clinic Operations *Maintain a safe working environment in the exam rooms, cast room, and the clinic.*Order Durable Medical Supplies (DME) and maintain inventory and stock per established clinic protocols.*Participate in quality control checks and environment of care rounds.*Maintain supplies in the exam rooms and cast room.
