Associate Professor or Professor in Athletic Training and Clinical Nutrition

The College of Health Sciences (CHS) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Associate or Full Professor level in the Department of Athletic Training and Clinical Nutrition (ATCN). The person in this position will take a leadership role in growing research capacity focused on clinical or sports nutrition with opportunities to pursue collaborations within and outside the College. Research productivity in the College is nationally ranked by NIH in the top 20 of allied health colleges. Current department faculty research interests include musculoskeletal injury prevention and rehabilitation, novel strategies to optimize human performance, and nutrition and exercise interventions to enhance skeletal muscle function across the lifespan. Many opportunities for collaboration exist within centers and colleges across campus such as the College of Medicine's Department of Pharmacology and Nutritional Sciences (DPNS), Center for Muscle Biology, UK Barnstable Brown Diabetes Center, Sports Medicine Research Institute, the Center for Clinical and Translational Sciences, the UK Sanders-Brown Center for Aging, and the UK NCI-Designated Markey Cancer Center.
Ideal candidates will have demonstrated a record of ongoing extramural research funding and scientific publications. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in applied research with a particular interest in those individuals that can foster the Department's expertise in clinical or sports nutrition. Candidates should also demonstrate a strong record of teaching, service, and mentorship. The successful applicant should have experience sufficient to qualify for an appointment at the rank of associate or full professor with tenure. Faculty rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Programs within ATCN include the Clinical Nutrition and Wellness and Sports Nutrition Master's degrees that offer collaborative curricula with the College of Medicine. ATCN and CHS also offer the Master's of Science degree in Athletic Training, and interdisciplinary certificate programs related to Nutrition for Human Performance, Active Women's Health, and Culinary Medicine. Opportunities to work with graduate students in the Rehabilitation Sciences and DPNS PhD programs and other CHS undergraduate and graduate programs are also available.
