The Atrium Health Musculoskeletal Institute and the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery (Carolinas HealthCare System is now Atrium Health) invites applications for key faculty positions to build the Translational Research Program within the Division of Research, Quality, and Outcomes. We have a large residency program and several fellowships across subspecialties. Candidates should have experience and a strong desire to work with learners at a variety of levels. We have a high volume clinical enterprise and are looking for scientists focused on field-expanding bench to bedside research and innovation.
The Director of Translational Research will oversee the research team and provide strategic planning for the implementation of a translational research program for the Atrium Health Musculoskeletal Institute. It is expected that the candidate will have a significant publication and funding track record in basic science or engineering, and demonstrated experience leading a research program.
Applications are also invited from candidates at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level for Biomechanical Engineers and Molecular Biologists to serve as faculty within our Translational Research program. Applications are encouraged from those conducting research in the areas of regenerative medicine, orthopaedics, and musculoskeletal injuries and/or conditions. It is expected that the candidate will have an established publication and funding track record and be comfortable initiating projects independently by identifying gaps in the literature as well as working collaboratively with surgeons.
