The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is seeking a Research Associate to work with Orthopaedic Surgery Faculty to implement research projects from conception through publication. Specific duties of this position are outlined below:
60% Data and Statistical Analysis
Work with Department of Orthopaedic Surgery faculty to implement research projects from conception through publication. Projects range from small pilot studies to large NIH multi-year grants.
Consult and participate with researchers from within and outside of the department and university on multiple projects.
Assist in the design and anlysis of resident research projects
Consult on study design for multiple departmental research projects
Carry out sample size and power calculations and propose and justify analytical methods and data collection procedures
40% Manuscript support
Write, edit and review scientific manuscripts with a focus on high impact peer review journals
Prepare manuscripts for publication and work with journal editors/reviewrs for publication

All required qualifications must be documented on application materials.
Masters degree in biostatistics or related field and 2 years of related experience or BS/BA and 4 years of related experience
Experience with one of the following programs: SAS, Strata, or SPSS
Demonstrated knowledge of statistical methods
Experience cleaning and analyzing large datasets, as well as correlated, longitudinal, cohort, spatial, and clinical trials data
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple demands and multiple projects
Comfortable working independently and experience working with multiple teams
Experience writing, editing, and submitting manuscripts
Previous experience in data analysis, including demonstrated proficiency with analytical software
Coursework in statistics, data analysis, research methods
Familiarity with R software, ArcGIS, and MPlus
Experience and a demonstrated understanding of clinical and translational science research
Experience with outcomes research
Experience with RedCap
