The Department of Health Sciences in the School of Health & Human Sciences, Indiana University, on the Indianapolis campus invites applications for a 10-month faculty position beginning August 1, 2019. The successful applicant will have the ability to teach and mentor both graduate (MS and PhD) and undergraduate (BS) students, will be responsible for developing an active and sustainable research agenda in his/her area of expertise, generate external funding, engage in online and classroom teaching, and provide school and university service. Individuals with translational research and/or community engagement experiences are especially encouraged to apply. The Department of Health Sciences offers a PhD in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, a MS in Health Sciences, and a BS in Health Sciences. Additionally, the department offers three undergraduate certificates: Gerontology, Global Health and Rehabilitation Studies, and Rehabilitation and Disability Studies. Students earn undergraduate certificates independently or in conjunction with the BS in Health Sciences.

Ph.D. Health or Rehabilitation Sciences or complementary disciplines including but not limited to public health, health promotion, epidemiology, behavioral medicine, health education, or nursing
Demonstrated potential for success in research as demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
Evolving program of research aligned with or complementary to the IU School of Health & Human Sciences.
Experience in college teaching
Strong interdisciplinary approach to research
Experience in mentoring graduate / undergraduate students
Potential to secure independent external funding with collaborative research experience in the health sciences and related fields.
