The division is centered at UPMC's Presbyterian Hospital, a Level I Regional Resource Trauma Center, and a leading regional referral center. The division offers a number of clinical research and dedicated academic opportunities with a diverse and unique patient population. Duties will be a mix of clinical, teaching and academic activities. Practice is supported by a fully-staffed clinical office, trainees and PAs. Fellowship training required. UPMC St. Margaret Community Body Imaging Radiologists: Community Body Imager wanted to join the faculty at UPMC St. Margaret, a 249-bed acute care and teaching hospital situated on a 21-acre campus near suburban Apinwall. Located 20 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh, Aspinwall is safe, affordable, and culturally attractive, with short commutes to forested hills and great school districts. UPMC St. Margaret features state-of-the-art facilities including a CT suite with 8, 16, and 64-slice CT scanner; an MR suite with three 1.5T scanners, including wide-bore scanner; and an interventional suite equipped with two GE Innova 4100 systems that provide high-resolution imaging and exceptional peripheral vascular capabilities, as well as the latest in 3-D imaging software. Candidates with prior fellowship training strongly preferred, with preference given to Abdominal Imaging/Body Imaging specialists. UPMC Academic Nuclear Medicine Specialist: Academic Nuclear Medicine Physician wanted to join our Nuclear Medicine comprised of 5 attending and 2 PET/CT fellows who cover 3 campus hospitals, including Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and the Hillman Cancer Center. These sites are equipped with SPECT/CT, dual head SPECT and PET/CT cameras for state of the art imaging. The Nuclear Medicine Division provides a wider variety of treatments, such as I-131 therapies for hyperthyroidism and a large volume of thyroid cancer patients, Xofigo, Samarium, Zevalin, Bexxar and Y-90 Therasphere and Sirsphere for liver radioembolization. Our large volume of oncologic PET/CTs performed at 5 different sites, including the diagnostic CT, are interpreted by our Nuclear Medicine Division. The PET research facility at the University of Pittsburgh is a world leader in the development of both instrumentation (the first PET/CT scanner was invented at UPMC) and radiotracers (over 100 radiolabeled compounds for human and animal use, including Pittsburgh Compound PiB). Animal research equipment includes a pre-clinical PET/CT suite, a state-of-the-art radiochemistry laboratory, and an Inveon small animal PET/CT (Siemens). Human clinical/research equipment includes four GE PET/CT scanners (8, 16 and 2-64 slice GE Discovery VCT) and a Siemens mMr Biograph PET/MR system. A dedicated brain workstation is equipped with advanced SPM and normal database statistical software for analysis of dementia, epilepsy and brain tumor.
