Pathologist: Recruiting an open rank (determined on qualifications) nontenure faculty position in the division of Anatomic Pathology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) for a Director of its Center of Excellence (COE) in Bone/Soft Tissue Pathology. The candidate should be board certified/eligible in Anatomic Pathology with subspecialty training, and will be primarily based at UPMC Shadyside Hospital adjacent to the Hillman Cancer Center and its program in musculoskeletal oncology. The COE processes over 1000 sarcomas per year and is a local and regional consultation center for bone and soft tissue sarcomas. Exceptional support by comprehensive laboratories in immunohistochemistry, FISH, traditional cytogenetics, and molecular genomic pathology will allow candidates to build on an already strong academic program. The recruit would be the Director of the Center of Excellence (COE) in Bone/Soft Tissue Pathology, encompassing two additional faculty members. The COE has an ACGME accredited one-year fellowship and has exceptional case material, clinical collaborations, and molecular support to develop a program in translational pathology of bone and soft tissues. A record of and commitment to scholarly activities is essential, including teaching, research, and publications. The Department would provide ample start-up resources and off service time, to assure a successful academic career.
