The Department of Physical Therapy at Azusa Pacific University invites applications for a faculty position in our Doctor of Physical Therapy program. The successful candidate will teach, design curricula, and carry out research in the area of primary care (Physical Diagnosis and Screening, and Imaging) or specialization.
Azusa Pacific University is a private Christian institution located in the foothills northeast of Los Angeles. The CAPTE accredited Doctor of Physical Therapy Program admits 52 students a year to its 11,000 square foot facility. Departmental research facilities include metabolic stress equipment, musculoskeletal imaging ultrasound, EMG, and Noraxon Motion Analysis.
Opportunities exist for participating in service learning projects with physical therapy students
Responsibilities: Teach within area of expertise, serve on departmental and university committees, and pursue own research agenda.
Level: Rank and salary are commensurate with academic credentials and experience.
A physical therapist with earned terminal academic doctorate (Ph.D. EdD. DHS, DSc) in physical therapy or a related field of study preferred. Applicants must be eligible for PT licensure in California; 3-5 years of higher education teaching experience preferred; 3-5 years of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist in area of specialty, a defined research agenda and record of publications; a strong Christian commitment.
